For the past eight years we have been creating small batches of exciting wines from interesting Santa Barbara County vineyards. Press Gang fruit is hand picked, hand sorted and fermented with native yeast. I love the "tried and true" winemaking methods, but also consider myself to be very progressive in the cellar.
I learned from the ground up starting with harvest at a local winery, spent a vintage aboard in Western Australia and fell in love with the craft. Upon returning home, I jumped right back into another harvest til I worked my way up to an assistant winemaker. I knew, early on, that I wanted to create something different, against the grain so to speak, to represent my style of wines.
